Line Hold video tutorial by ~
EraserX Brilliance. John has taught me a ton about coloring, this video is no exception!! A must-view for the entire site. (written by suggester) (

Probably should've sent you this note months ago, but I LOVE this tutorial for line holds that you've posted. I've used it on almost all of my work recently... both as you've instructed above, and also slightly modified (without the color blur into the line art), to make it look more "traditional."
Either way, I've found it extremely useful and flexible and a definite keeper when I color. Many thanks... you've helped a lot of people with it!

Steve Jobs is responsible for many of the great things in my life, including my dreams and aspirations. He will be sorely missed.
Rest In Peace, Steve Jobs. You were a great man.
That's what I feel now. I've watched this more that 10 times and I still can't seem to get it right. It's because I didn't do the same steps he's done and of course I can't get to the same result. Can please anybody tell me how to start with the channels so I can copy John's same settings? This technique looks wonderful and I'm sure it'll save a lot of time and effort. But I'm not familiar with the channels and the tutorials I've read didn't help at all because with all of them I had different results, and none of them was the same as this. PLEASE HELP! Thank you in advance.
