Apologies for my voice, which is far more annoying than I realized. Also, sorry for my retarded rambling. I'm no good on the spot and I didn't reherse this.

Line Hold video tutorial by ~EraserX Brilliance. John has taught me a ton about coloring, this video is no exception!! A must-view for the entire site. (written by suggester) ( Suggested by `OneFreeInternet and Featured by `LawrenceDeDark )

John,
Probably should've sent you this note months ago, but I LOVE this tutorial for line holds that you've posted. I've used it on almost all of my work recently... both as you've instructed above, and also slightly modified (without the color blur into the line art), to make it look more "traditional."

Either way, I've found it extremely useful and flexible and a definite keeper when I color. Many thanks... you've helped a lot of people with it! :)

This tutorial is phenomenal! Thanks a bunch! This seriously may change the way I do my pieces, and the order in which I work on the different components in my art.

Frustration. Anger. More frustration.
That's what I feel now. I've watched this more that 10 times and I still can't seem to get it right. It's because I didn't do the same steps he's done and of course I can't get to the same result. Can please anybody tell me how to start with the channels so I can copy John's same settings? This technique looks wonderful and I'm sure it'll save a lot of time and effort. But I'm not familiar with the channels and the tutorials I've read didn't help at all because with all of them I had different results, and none of them was the same as this. PLEASE HELP! Thank you in advance.

Do you know if there's a way to do this in Corel Painter X? I tried applying this method to Painter, but I can't seem to make it work and I'm not sure if I'm just doing it wrong or not. I can't quite figure the channels thing out, either. I'll have to watch the vid a few more times. Great work! :)
